The Show always goes on at The Royal Theater !  There is a choice of entertainment and musical venues to please your  individual tastes.

The Royal Theater  became a national icon as a result of hometown author, Larry McMurtry’s novel, “The Last Picture Show,”  which was later made into an multi Oscar nominated movie by the same name.  The rebuilt Royal opened in August 2000 as a year round Performing Arts Center, 35 years to the date that a fire gutted it's interior and ended its days as the town's only movie house.

The Royal Theater annually produces three regular venues including a three or four play, live theater and stage season, the Late Week Lazy Boy Supper Club and The Texasville Opry.  All three, operating under the guise of Royal Theater Productions have achieved tremendous success in reaching various groups of faithful patrons.
